Year End Close/Accomplishments

Dear Berlin Center and LeValley Church family,

Cindy and I have decided to shorten the January newsletter due to our focus on year end conference reports and closing out our financial reports.  There always seems to be a pile of things on our desks so we are making a priority of the things we have to get done first to keep our spirtual house in order.

We have accomplshed many things in the past year together:  Tent ministry saving souls and planting faith seeds, conducting Bible studies, funeral luncheons, weddings, mission dinners, packing and sending Christmas shoe boxes around the world, conference giving to prevent deaths to Malaria, Aids orphan relife in Uganda, Emmaus Community support, Prison ministry, Crop Walk and Hunger relief, Zion UMC meals, SMAT support and dinner, youth ministry, Book Club, Sunday School, Choir, Christmas Caroling, building projects completed at LeValley, UMW ministries, a growing Library, home visits, prayer groups, Green Acres services, TCT Ask the Pastor TV outreach, Boy Scouts and Cub Scout programs to the LeValley Day Care Program.  We are making spiritual progress in winning souls to Jesus and making disciples one soul at a time.  In Mt 18: 19-20 Jesus says, "I also tell you this:  If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.  For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am thre among them."

In order to accompllish all things we have accomplished this year Jesus has been with us and helped us.

Jesus also said in relation to our mission giving, "For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.  I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.  I was naked, and you gave me clothing.  I was sick, and you cared for me.  I was in prison, and you visited me.'  "Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you?  Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and and show you hospitality?  Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?  "And the King will say, "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' Mt 25:35-40.

As your pastor I am very proud and pleased to be serving such a wonderful parish that gets the fact that church life does make a difference in the world.  Jennifer and I look forward to serving with you one more year in and through Christ.

Happy New Year

Pastor Ray and Jen
