Seek the Lord and His Strength: Seek His Face Continually. Psalm 105.4

Dear Berlin Center and LeValley Church family,

The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 not to give up.  God's grace and God's glory is for a better day now and up ahead in our future.  God's glory and grace is always ongoing.  We have to push past our troubles and discover God's glory.

"But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, "I believed in God, so I spoke."  We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you.  All of this is for your benefit.  And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.  That is why we never give up.  Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.  For our present troubles are small and won't last very long.  Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!  So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.  For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Another passage tells us to fix our eyes on good things instead of negative things in life.  Philippians 4:8-9

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.  Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me--everything you heard from me and saw me doing.  Then the God of peace will be with you.  HBNLT

The last passage I want you to look at is Acts 26:12-18 because we must focus on the mission of changing souls by the power of Christ otherwise we end up fighting against Christ.

"One day I was on such a mission to Damascus, armed with the authority and commission of the leading priests.  About noon, Your Majesty, as I was on the road, a light from heaven brighter than the sun shone down on me and my companions.  We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?  It is useless for you to fight against my will.'  "Who are you, lord?' I asked.

"And the Lord replied, "I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.  Now get to your feet!  For I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant and witness.  You are to tell the world what you have seen and what I will show you in the future.  And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles.  Yes, I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.  Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God's people, who are set apart by faith in me.'
