Pastor Ray Sundell's Greeting!

Taken from the July 2012 Newsletter article:  Pastor's Ponderings

Dear Berlin Center and LeValley Church Family,

Jen and I are excited to get most of our boxes unpacked and settled into the beautiful parsonage and begin our ministry in your midst.  Thanks to everyone that has helped welcome us in any manner and to everyone that helped paint the parsonage and clean up or repair items.  Each day Ionia is becoming more like home.

Our cat, named "Bear" has adjusted well to the new parsonage and is using her voice more to communicate with us.  We have most of the parsonage rooms together and the church office.  I am still working on the home office and hope to have the  home office finished in a day or two.  Empty boxes are on the front porch waiting for a recycling pick up from our movers.

We try to practice the ministry of contentment in every place we are sent by the Lord working through the cabinet to serve Christ, but we will feel better when the empty boxes are picked up and we can throw away a few more things we don't need.

As you get to know Jennifer and I, hopefully you will discover that we are not empty boxes and much more than a recycled clergy couple.  We have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus and the good news about Jesus.  We like things to run smoothly and for each church to experience God's love on a daily basis.  We like the laity to be involved in ministry and mission with us and we will help to equip you for ministry where and when we can.  Hospice ministry, missions, preaching, teaching, Bible studies, prayer, visitation and administration, ecumenical participation as well as denominational participations is all a priority for us.  In everything we do together remember to love God, love each other, and have fun.  The last time I checked my Bible it still reads, Rom 14:17-19

17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.  19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Ray and Jen Sundell
