Jennifer's Testimony

Jennifer Sundell and Pastor Ray Sundell

Dear Berlin Center and LeValley Church Family,

I thought you might like to know how Jennifer came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  The family of Billy Graham has asked people to send letters to Billy telling him how his ministry  had impacted them.  The following is a letter that we have sent to the Billy Graham family detailing how the Lord used Billy Graham's ministry to save Jennifer.

Jen gave me permission to share her testimony and put it in this newsletter edition.  Jen and I have read most of Billy's books and many of Ruth's books and we recommend all of them to you as a source of spiritual growth and sound theology.

Blessings, Pastor Ray

Jennifer's Testimony

I came to Christ at the age of 16.  I was on vacation in Franklin, North Carolina.  While there I just happened to walk into a Christian bookstore.  I thought I was in a regular bookstore and when I discovered I was in a religious bookstore I felt very out of place.

I was getting ready to walk out the door when the storekeeper stopped and asked me how I was doing and how long I had known the Lord?  I remember thinking that was such a casual comment like God was my next door neighbor or something!  My reply was, "I am Catholic."

He went on to tell me that I needed to have a personal relationship with God.  It went in one ear and out the other. I quickly grabbed a book off the shelf and paid for it, making my get away out of the door. I am not sure why I felt I needed to buy a book to walk out of the store, but I did.

Once out of the store and safely in my car, I took the book out of my bag to see what I had just purchased.  The book was "Peace with God" by Billy Graham.  Later when I returned home to Michigan I read the entire book one night while I was babysitting at a friend's home.  God used that book to open up my spiritual eyes and I knelt in the middle of the living room and asked Christ to come into my life.  I felt God's peace flood into my life!

God has been faithful in every way since that day of salvation.  Today I am fifty-seven years old, the mother of three grown sons and the wife to a wonderful man God brought into my life while I was in college.  He is a United Methodist pastor.  I am thankful for Billy's ministry and how God is still using it today!

Yours in Christ,

Jen Sundell
