Getting Prepared!

Dear Berlin  Center and LeValley Church Family,

As we wait for a big cold front to hit Michigan and western North Carolina prepares for up to a  foot of snow, I am reminded that I need to get ready for the winter season.  That means ready my snow boots, make sure my little snow blower works in case I need it, get out the winter jackets, make sure I find my winter gloves and hats, and put away the grill, along with the table and chairs.  Maybe you have a list to get done before the first major snow fall that you are working on as I write this letter.

In our spiritual lives, we also have a winter season that can make us cold to God, apathetic to the gospel and unloving and unforgiving towards others.  If you find yourself being mean spirited, milking grudges, being overly judgemental and critical please consider winterizing your soul and putting on Christ more fully or maybe for the first time.  Every believer is required by God to winterize against sin and put on the clothing that Christ has given us.  Church growth and spiritual growth will come when you decide to change your clothing. We must all keep warm for Christ and keep the winter of sin and coldness towards God out of our hearts and lives.

Col :12-15 says, 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  13 Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.  Remember the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  15 And let the peace that comes from Chirst rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.  And always be thankful.
