2013/2014 Years Greeting

Dear LeValley and Berlin Center Church Family,

As 2013 comes to a close and the year 2014 waits to be lived, I want to take time to reflect on a few highlights of which there were many.  The Berlin Center Church continues to amaze me with generous mission giving, the teamwork involved in our fabulous thanksgiving mission dinner, the salvation effort at fair times during the summer, thanks Dick and Pennie and others for your outreach efforts, the SMAT Christmas dinner, new decoration banners, commitment to Gideon's and Emmaus, new lighting on the entry way thanks Don, a willingness to try a blended service with praise music, you helped host choir members in your homes from the Nairobi Chamber Choir, joint VBS with LeValley, a dedicated UMW and faithful leadership on the Ad Council, a Sunday School program, a regular prayer time on Monday evening and most of all our Church continues to maintain a strong commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The LeValley Church has worked with me to develop a Sunday School program, we now have a youth program led by parents Sue Chipman, Michelle Nutt, and most recently the Church has hired Jason and Ashley Redmond from SMAT to help work with youth in the area of Christian discipleship.  Jason and Ashley have spent time working with YWAM in the past and Ashley plays a wonderful piano.  I wanto to take a time to invite the youth from Berlin Center to participate with the LeValley youth.  I also want to thank Heika Rudd who had to step away from youth ministry for a season at Berlin Center.  She has done an excellent job with our young women in the Church!  The LeValley Church is also sponsoring a new Boy Scout troop and will continue to host and sponsor our Cub Scout pack.  Don't be surprised when you see the Boy Scouts helping out with worship during the new year.

Thank you LeValley Fellowship for helping to fund this new youth position.  Thank you to all the folks at LeValley that help make the Church extra special.  Cindy Taylor, does a wonderful job in the office keeping things together.  Donna Andres, runs a wonderful child care program and my hope for this year is that we can find ways to impact all the children in the parish to a greater degree for Christ.  Thanks to our active UMW for all that you do and our LeValley leadership team in 2013 and now 2014.

One step at a time the LeValley Trustees are working to upgrade the look of our sanctuary.  We are planing to upgrade our projector and sound booth, paint some walls, change out the carpet, and adjust the lighting.  Thank You LeValley for your strong missions support and your faithfulness to Jesus as Lord and Savior.

I will be offering a new members class soon and a new Bible study in 2014.  Next year, I hope to see a 6PM Christmas Eve Service at Berliln Center Church which I will be involved with and an 11PM service at LeValley Church.  On a denominational note thanks to both Churches for helping to raise money for the No Malaria offering and it looks like we will have another offering again in 2014 for this worthy mission project.

Have a Happy New Year in Christ!

Pastor Ray and Jen

Romans 10:9-13

9If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.  11As the Scriptures tells us, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced. " 12Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect.  They  have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.  13For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
